The ceremonies, sacred fire, the feras* ( part of hindu wedding), tears of mixed joy at the farewell and the new faces in the his home – all seemed a dream to her till she sat in front of the mirror to get dressed next morning and saw the box of vermilion – sacred mark of her marriage.
