Through the shade I see,
Patterns of light in colors,
The monochrome dreams
Slip through the words I let free,
The morning freshness captured
This is an entry inspired by Wednesday verses prompt (Fresh) which I read first thing in the morning . I am trying to get back to structured poetry styles , so I was happy to stumble across Colleen’s weekly Tuesday challenge and link this poem there.
Let the darkness be,
It does not matter anymore,
Let it spread inside out
Or seep a bit from sides,
It does not matter today.
Let people assume we follow them,
Or some one making us lead him,
What difference would it make,
We are , we would be like this
Always stuck between leaders and a pack.
But it does not matter today.
‘Cause today i sit beside you
And realize I only need you
To hear my silence and reply likewise,
I depend on you to ask me anything
But not expect any sensible reply.
I instead unwrap my curiosities
And feed them to imagination
Losing myself in the taste of kisses
That i steal at every red light.
As soon as I read the prompt light(s) , I was flooded with lot of options to write about. And then I thought of ways to light up our life and other’s as well. so here I wrote an acrostic for light –
Here’s another beautiful light in my life ( gifted to me on my birthday this october ) :
And one for the lovely bunch of people , who light my life –
To family for being the light,
that shines in my heart –
and the lovely fireflies
that makes me smile each time.
To the friends that adorn my skies
whether day or darkest hour of night,
and shine in such unseen corners
where nothing seems to fit right.
To the love that keeps me writing
of people , words and images,
of comments so kind and fun
I owe it to you all for keep me loving.
In his light
one finds the way
of glorified sacrifices,
of immortal history –
Elizabeth at Musical Notes : Poetry Prompt asked us to write a poem in 15 words or less , inspired after hearing the following song ” Joan of Arc” –
The song for em is a dialogue between god and her. And it literally moved me. I was in a trance sort. I heard it over and over. the metaphors , the voice , the music was just bang on !
And thats why it was so tough to write something that made sense after this heavy background ..
