Just like me [Mera jaisa tu .. ]

The title “Mera jaisa tu” is a line from one of the songs i have been listening to a lot these days  .. And it translates to : “you are just like me”. And that made me wondering ..

They say opposites attract ! But is it not the similarities that bring two people close ??

what do you have to say about it ??

And below are the lines I wrote last night listening to the same song :

starting from the differences we have,

tracing the journey backwards

through the different views

you and me showed each other

from eyes of heart ,

and voices of soul;

i reach again the same place

where it all began,

from one word to another line,

from one silly comment

to hours of non sense talks,

to smiles , tears , pain and loss,

back to here, where I stand today,

alone yet loved, sad yet strong !

Here is the song if you want to hear :

Song in my head

Very few days
when you wake up
with a song in your head,
blessed be the days
when you can smile
over a song in your  head.
reasons be unknown
for the joys bubbling
from the song in your head.
hum it first,then
sing it aloud to the world
the song in your head…

Dedicated to all my friends and readers here is the song i woke up humming in my head –  [ The song has english subtitles so you can watch]

Musical Memory#3 : Joy

joys of making bonds
with one who had none before
his smile said it all

Prompted @ Sensational Haiku Wednesday

This haiku was also inspired by the memory of my school days. The conductor of the school bus for my route did not have a family. On rakshabandhan he was all the more upset to see rakhis on almost all guys’ wrist. To cheer him up, i offered to tie him a rakhi which he readily accepted.  He heard the same set of songs daily with the first song being this –

I heard this so much that i could sing the whole song any time !!

God bless him wherever he is !

Our song

Words of this song,
magic of the notes,
memory of lost love,
lingers on..

I remember the look
from joy of my hopes,
hurt from my secrets,
such flash images grow..

Your sorrows,i know
gifted from the evening
of passion shared,and
words of no meaning…

If you could please
punish me for everything,
and have things your way,
just once, say something…

Written for One Shot Wednesday

This is an attempt at translation this poem i wrote in my mother tongue hindi . Those who can understand it, will agree, this english version does not really has the charm. But i did try !

A song on poetry

After a long time, I realized am still an impatient , ill-tempered one when I am upset about something. And so the following verse :

I desperately
need to control
my steaming
head

Negative thoughts
make my
body ache.

The poem under spotlight today is :

He went to Save the World

On my way to University, I thought I would be able to solve the world’s problems.
I thought to myself: yes, yes I can do that. I cannot wait. I just know I can.

I got to my room and started my studies soon after my arrival.
Philosophy and psychology, physics and astronomy, those were the subject I came to learn.

PS : I am one poem closer to finishing my personal project but lot many away 😉 !

PPS : I am still bit upset ovr what happened today. More upset over the fact that I was rude when I was upset.

Songs we make

A line from you,
the next from me,
a word you forget,
and expect me to fill in

The spoon hits the mug
in a rhythm you devise
a tune plays on my lips
you approve it with smiles

I fill in more sounds
you stare at me shocked
suddenly fingers drum
nothing holding the flow.

A collective sigh escapes
our collaborative songs
linger  somewhere
in the dream we wove.
