Just my Imagination

Where were you last night ?I  tried to reach you ..
I forgot my cell.
Where did you go ?
I went to a party with a lady friend.
you were with her all night ?
Yes.It was fun.
Oh!
You said Its cool. Right ?
Umm.. NO!
Ha ! Knew that. Was testing you.
So the lady..
Just my Imagination. 😉

Inspired by one of my fav track “Just my Imagination” which also was the first thing i was reminded of from letter J.

I “knit”

Dreams of past
from mind i fish
and color them in
future memories.
some beads of love
i gather silently
patches of tears
i join them with.
I imagine not
what shape i want
nor do i bother
of colors life grant.
I gather when i knit
metaphorical threads
adding,removing
daily ideas in my head.
I offer to all the gift,of
what i make and wear
it talks of wisdom
if you pretend to hear.
I sometimes dread the time
my fingers cease to move
but never will i desert
the yarn that broods.

Music

Not always you need words
to express what you feel;
listen to the wordless music
if you do not yet believe.

Let music lead you
to the harmonious world
of beats, rythm and notes,
not always you need words.

trust not just what you hear
imagine even the unreal
ignore not when music talks
to express what you feel.

Words have their instant charm
but it can be attimes misleading
best way to feed your soul is,
listen to the wordless music.

Words have their instant charm
but trust not just what you hear
Let music lead you once,
if you do not yet beleive.

This is a cascade poetry where the lines of first stanza appear as last lines of consecutive stanza. So every cascade poem has the number of stanza as N + 1 where N = number of lines in first stanza.
I have further added a variation to this by repeating even the first lines of all stanza to make the last one

Qualified to wed

Smiling faces with prying eyes,
humor laced words flow back and forth.
The guy appears shy –
the centre of attraction though,
His parents narrating the worth –
education, wealth,family and future,
Her parents look pleased
and curious enough to ask bit more –
Its the girl’s turn now
to be talked of in similar details
education, skills,hobbies and plans –
two kings describing their treasure trails.
All eyes now set in anticipation,
immediately the girl is gestured to come
with a smile pasted on the nervous face
she enters bearing the burden of family name.
The guy gives a hurried look,
one towards the girl, another to his folks
and the decision is sealed,
they did not like what they came to see.
she knows it well –
knew it before she stepped in front
she does not have a pretty face
nor the body blessed with grace.
It matters not,how well she read
or the fact she earned family’s bread –
It was a shame she didn’t look good
all other qualifications were put to end.
